Jobs
Due to the inconsistent nature of house clearance work, we don’t offer full-time jobs but if you are interested in casual work, read the description below and if still interested, please drop us a line using the form below.
An idea of what clearance jobs involve:
As a general guide, we’re looking for one or two guys who are (1) 100% reliable (2) fit, strong and willing to work without pause for as long as a job takes (3) ideally living in or close to Chelmsford for pick-up at 8am. Clearing a property typically means spending 75% of your time humping furniture and other household effects out of a property, loading them into a van and then unloading them later in the day. 25% of your time will usually be spent putting loose items in sacks/boxes ready to be carried to the van.
Unlike ‘steady’ jobs, the work is very irregular – a week might include one or two days’ work, sometimes more, sometimes less, depending on bookings and time of year. Holiday periods such as July – August and the xmas-new year period are usually fairly quiet times. So work is on an as-needed basis.
Pay is cash in hand on the day, with starting pay £10 per hour. This can be reconsidered after a couple of months, depending on your performance.
Ideally you will live in or close to Chelmsford. If not within walking distance of the usual meeting point (near the Police Station in Victoria Road), you’ll need to at least live nearby, or have your own transport. We meet at 8am, early enough to avoid the worst of the school traffic each morning.
If interested, complete the form below as best you can and, if suitable, we’ll get back to you to arrange a meeting to discuss suitability and the job.
Thank you for your interest.
